Who am i?
I’m passionate about exploring how digital experiences and visual communication can motivate people towards action, whether that is encouraging participation in events, impairing community involvement or just making everyday interactions more enjoyable. My work often sits at that intersection of design, and human connection where I'm aiming to create experiences that move people and bring them together.
My design approach is very community driven, playful, and most of all adaptive. I enjoy collaborating with others heavily to shape ideas into experiences that tell a story and evoke emotional responses. Whether it’s something more bold and engaging or minimal and functional, I try to focus on designing for my intended audience.
I originally came to Northeastern intending to major in Marketing, but through my earlier creative work, working on social media content, and organizing events in high school. I realized that what excited me most was the creative side of things less so the business side. Outside of design however, I'm building my own sense of community I've found through being on the Weightlifting team and engaging heavily with friends. These connections just remind me of the importance of working together, having a support system and sharing goals, all are values I bring with me into every project I work on.
My names Jelson Martinez, I’m a second year BFA student at Northeastern University majoring in experience design with a minor in marketing.
