ABOUT

Context: For this project we were asked to think about a crisis in the world, then to think of a cause that could combat it, and lastly create an entire campaign to execute the idea. I choose to focus on the loneliness epidemic and combat it by introducing a mobile third space concept. Encouraging community and people to get out of the house and engage with this mobile space that tours the country.

Users: The target audience for this mobile third space is truly anyone and everyone, since the entire purpose is to encourage community regardless of age, ect. Everyone is welcome to come participate and families are encouraged to come together if they wanted to.

Solution: The mobile third space concept is called CommonSpace, as the name suggest it’s supposed to act as a common space for everyone to just relax and enjoy a third space outside of their regular or work lives. A calming, free of charge space for all. While it’s free to engage with the space there is merch and stuff for purchase which goes back into the campaign to spread it even more throughout the country.

PROCESS

Starting this project I was very lost with what crisis I wanted to focus on, however thinking more I knew I wanted to focus on the concept of “third spaces” and loneliness is what attached best to that. The reasoning behind the blocky text and square logo is meant to represent the building blocks of community. The entire brand messaging is trying to build up community to be stronger together and end loneliness so I found it to be fitting.

The color scheme I was going for was something that popped out and could be seen from afar while also having like warm tones and just being very soft like terracotta color is very calming, while still standing out cause it’s not your average everyday color you see. All of the experimentation was done on figma and was inspired by other campaigns like “Ending Loneliness Together” which is a campaign in Australia.

REFLECTION

I enjoyed the direction I took this project in and am very happy with the level of work I was able to do, enhancing my abilities in both photoshop and figma and mixing the two platforms. The only thing I would want to work on is working on final concept art, such as the trucks scene where you can see everything happening. I wish that I didn’t have to visualize something like that with the usage of AI, however at my currently abilities I don’t believe I could’ve visualized it in any other way.
